Pursuing Safety to Safeguard Our Employees’ Dreams, Hopes, and Futures

In order to safeguard the dreams, hopes, and futures of each and every employee, we need to create work environments that are cheerful and free of accidents and injuries. We believe that this will make us a company where employees can establish long careers and can enjoy peace of mind together with their families.

The Safety Center collects and analyzes data regarding not only accidents and injuries but also traffic infractions and regulatory violations, and it provides guidance that is appropriate to individual circumstances. Keiwa has a system in place to respond rapidly to problems and irregular situations even at night and early in the morning, and at distant locations, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure that our employees can do their jobs with peace of mind.

  • Keiwa Eye

    Protecting Our Drivers

Keiwa is committed to providing a safe environment conducive to long-term careers through dynamic GPS management of all vehicles and all drivers using a proprietary system that operates 24 hours a day. Drivers can receive real-time assistance for problems and sudden changes in physical condition that occur while driving by pressing an SOS button in the cab to alert the Safety Center. We have drive recorders that capture video not only of the vehicle’s front, rear, left, and right, but also video from the vehicle cab in order to analyze the status of our vehicle crews and other accident factors and to determine the causes of accidents. This analysis is used to reduce accidents, to prevent recurrence and to provide feedback on safety guidance.

  • Driving Aptitude Assessments

    Analyzing Driving-Related Strengths and Weaknesses

We measure driving idiosyncrasies and provide concrete advice, guidance, and counseling to ensure safe driving. In 2020, we obtained approval from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to conduct driving aptitude assessments. We are now able to conduct aptitude assessments for drivers of all kinds, including taxi, bus, and truck drivers.

  • Remote Roll Call

We conduct centralized roll call 365 days a year, from the time employees leave the warehouse to the time they return.

Our remote roll call system is installed at all transportation sales offices and has been approved by MLIT (as of October 2022). This cloud-based system handles roll calls at both the start and end of work in the same way in-person roll calls are conducted. It connects all sales offices of the Keiwa Group with a central roll call office to conduct daily roll calls for all vehicle crews (over 900 employees), 24 hours a day.

  • Operations Manager Training

    Training Operations Managers

Since April 2021, our Safety Center has been an MLIT-approved operations manager training site. Every two months, six times a year, we conduct a general training course for operations managers (cargo). (We have three full-time instructors.)

Environmental Initiatives

At Keiwa, we aim to improve the global environment by protecting the environment and its resources through our environmental policy.

Gender Equality Initiatives

  • The Cinderella Division

The Cinderella Division is an all-women division that includes managers, dispatchers, and drivers. We provide safe work environments for women whose life events, including marriage, childbirth, and parenthood, make the work environment an important consideration. The Cinderella Division offers a flextime work system, a five-day work week with two-day weekends, and a day care center, making it easier to achieve a good work-life balance. We shall continue to create work environments in which women find it easier to work and are able to make thriving contributions to society.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international objectives for the years 2016 through 2030 that are described in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted at a UN summit in September 2015 as a framework to succeed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that had been formulated in 2001. They consist of 17 goals and 169 targets for achieving a sustainable world in terms of economy, society, and the environment.

At Keiwa, our goal is to leave no one behind. We aim to be a community-based company that the community can trust and rely on. We are also committed to social contribution activities in the pursuit of social progress and a brighter future.
